Emergencies in oncology can be devastating to patients and their families, in many cases leading to a sudden death with no time for the patients to leave their affairs in order. We met up with Dr. Roberto Iezzi and Dr. Anthony Ryan at ECIO 2019 where a dedicated session focused on how to deal with such emergencies, ensuring a patient-centred approach with clear communication pathways among all treating experts to provide the best possible outcome for both patients and their families.
