Experience the Great Western Invasion - Great Central Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2023

Описание: The Great Central Railway was back with its annual Autumn Steam Gala at the start of October. The theme for 2023, was a bit of a Great Western Railway vibe as two visiting locomotives to the GCR autumn steam gala are GWR engines. The first visitor was GWR Saint no. 2999 Lady of Legend visiting the Great Central Railway for the first time in preservation. It was great to see Lady of Legend in action in the Midlands and having not filmed at the Great Central Railway for a while, this was a good loco for me to see and hear hard at work. The next visitor was GWR Pannier Tank no. 7714 from the Severn Valley Railway. A pannier tank is really good fun at galas and since it was tasked with hauling a good load along the route, it made it a real spectacle to see the Pannier powering along the route. The other engine in action was GWR Modified Hall no. 6990 Witherslack Hall in disguise as lost mate no. 6988 Swithland Hall following her recent return to service for repairs.

I filmed yesterday on Thursday where the three engines as mentioned were running with the rest of the home fleet ready for the following day. It was pretty much a mini Great Western Railway day and I couldn't miss it. Here are the locations filmed in geographical order from North to South:
