Ian explains how he repaired his soils and increased the BRIX of the grass using the cattle as tools for animal impact. This is known as high stock density grazing. Ian made a joking remark that his swards are so dense that his animals don't need to graze anymore, they just stand there and get fat. His humor is great.
What Ian is writing on paper is in regards to South Africa.
West: BRIX - 16, annual precip.: 12 inches, land price: 12x
Central: BRIX - 10, annual precip.: 18 inches, land price: 4x
East: BRIX - 2, annual precip.: 30 inches, land price: x
Ian's land is located in the east. Using high stocking density he has increased the BRIX and volume far more than the surrounding areas. His swards have become very dense that he leases 2/3 of his property because he can't utilize it all, that's a good problem to have. His problem isn't that he runs out of grass, but he doesn't have enough cattle.
