What is the final step in buying a property in Thailand?
The final step is to physically attend the Land Office to effect the transfer and registration of the title deed.
Which Land Office do you have to register?
There are many different Land Offices in Thailand. They each deal with property within their own local jurisdiction. The particular Land Office will therefore depend upon where the relevant property is located.
Process of Transfer and Registration of Title in Thailand
1. Registration of contract of sale.
2. Payment of any remaining balance of the selling price, usually by way of a cashier’s cheque.
3. Payment of Taxes and fees such as transfer fee and withholding tax. Stamp duty and Specific Business tax may also be applicable depending upon the circumstances.
Do I have to attend to the Land Office?
