In this video, we will learn important concentration terms used in Pharmaceutical Analysis, specially useful for B.Pharm, D.Pharm & competitive exams. Concepts are explained in easy language with examples, so you can understand and memorize quickly.
1️⃣ Molarity (M) Definition: Molarity is the number of moles of solute present in 1 liter of solution. Formula: M = Moles of solute / Volume of solution (L) Uses: Widely used in pharmaceutical calculations, titrations, and solution standardization.
2️⃣ Molality (m) Definition: Molality is the number of moles of solute present in 1 kg of solvent. Formula: m = Moles of solute / Weight of solvent (kg) Uses: Used in temperature-dependent studies because molality does NOT change with temperature.
3️⃣ Normality (N) Definition: Normality is the number of gram equivalents of solute per liter of solution. Formula: N = Gram equivalent / Volume of solution (L) Uses: Mostly used in acid-base titrations, redox reactions, and precipitation reactions. 🔹
