Like a puppet with no strings
Rubber eyes, gelatin skin
Wooden bones, plastic hairpins

Like a reptile with no limbs
Slimy tongue, slithering
Quiet scream transforming

If everything you say is right
And everything I do is wrong
How come we’ve been getting along
How long is every day and everyday’s alright

If every time you swear to me
It’s just a brief absence of sense
My life’s just one long inconsequence
A consequence of time, time’s made a fool of me

Like a diary with no words
Sugar ink, unrevealing
Just a shell whispering wise tales

Like a preacher with no voice
Wide eyed stare, vertigo
Softness of inferno

Repairing you, destroying me

I’ve seen it all
Was it worth it all?

If everything you say is right
And everything I do is wrong
