Описание: SUKKUR (June 14): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has termed the rehabilitation and modernisation of the Sukkur Barrage a “milestone for Sindh’s water security and agricultural future” after the provincial government fast-tracked a Rs23.4 billion overhaul to safeguard one of South Asia’s most important irrigation systems.

Inaugurating the successful completion of the 2025–26 working season under the Sindh Barrages Improvement Project (SBIP), the chief minister inspected newly rehabilitated sections, reviewed modernisation works carried out over the past year, and said the upgraded barrage would enhance flood resilience, improve irrigation efficiency and secure the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of farming families across the province.
