Texas flood update: Ted Cruz says evacuations should have come earlier in flood that killed 89+

Описание: Flooding across central Texas led to at least 89 deaths over the July 4 weekend. President Donald Trump responded by signing a major disaster declaration for Kerr County, where much of the damage took place.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demanded an investigation into cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the wake of the deadly floods.

Schumer said the Trump administration's cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Weather Service impacted both the preparation and response to the floods.

Rescuers have continued their search for the missing, including a camp counselor and the children from Camp Mystic, an all-girls summer camp. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed there were 41 people confirmed to be unaccounted for across the state and more could be missing.
