Why The Indian Army Wants To Train 5 Lakh Soldiers In Drone Warfare

Описание: The Indian Army plans to train around five lakh personnel in drone operations over the next five years as part of a major military transformation. Around 50,000 officers and soldiers have already been trained in operating Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS), while a dedicated drone warfare framework has been introduced across 19 military training establishments. The initiative follows lessons drawn from recent conflicts and Operation Sindoor, where drones and precision-strike systems played a significant role. With Ashni drone platoons now deployed across 380 infantry battalions and drone training becoming mandatory for military aviators, the Army is moving towards a future where drone operations become a core soldiering skill.
