Charanjit Singh
(born 3 February 1931 in Mairi, Himachal Pradesh ( Then Punjab ) is a former field hockey player from India.
He captained the Indian hockey team that won the gold medal in the 1964 Summer Olympics at Tokyo, Japan.
He retired as Director Department of Physical Education in Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
He currently stays in Una Himachal Pradesh
Baba Kanshi Ram
born in 11 July 1882 at Dada Siba, Himachal Pradesh and died in 15 October 1943.
Other names Pahari Gandhi. Organisation Indian National Congress. Movement Independence. 1911 attended Delhi Durbar.
The turning point for him came in 1919, when the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre occurred, while he was in Amritsar.
After this incident, he returned home to Kangra and started spreading Mahatma Gandhi's message through his poetry and songs in the Pahari languages.
He was first arrested on 5 May 1920 and spent the following two years in Dharamshala jail along with Lala Lajpat Rai.
He was released on 11 November 1922.
The death sentences handed out to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev in 1931 had a great impact on him. He vowed to wear black clothes until India achieved its independence.
He adhered to his vow until he died on 15 October 1943 and came to be known affectionately as the Siahposh General (General in Black).
Hon. Captain Subedar Major Vijay Kumar Sharma
(born 19 August 1985) is a sport shooter from India.
He won the silver medal in the individual 25 metre rapid fire pistol event at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Kumar hails from Barsar village of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh and is a serving Subedar Major (Warrant Officer Class I) in the Dogra Regiment (16th Battalion) Indian Army.
At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, he won two gold medals: the individual 25 meter rapid fire pistol competition and the pairs competition in the same event together with Pemba Tamang.
The same year, he won a bronze medal in the Asian Games.
In 2006, he was awarded the Arjuna award by the Indian government.
In the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won three gold medals and one silver.
Kumar won the Silver Medal in the 25 m rapid fire pistolevent at 2012 London Olympics.
Kumar was chosen to be the Indian flagbearer at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Captain Vikram Batra
Captain Vikram Batra, (9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an officer of the Indian Army, posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
He led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in Indian history. He was often referred to as ‘'Sher Shah'’ ("Lion King") in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.
Batra was born on 9 September 1974, in a small town in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. He was the third child of Girdhari Lal Batra, a government school principal, and Kamal Kanta Batra, a school teacher.

After completing a year (session 1995—96) toward the degree of MA in English, he left the University to join the Indian Military Academy.
