My name is Brian Thornsberry and I'm the executive director of the Robert Alexander center. One of the large programs here at the Robert Alexander center is family therapy. We believe very highly of family therapy and its importance to the alcoholic or drug addict. Family therapy at the Robert Alexander center usually occurs once a week with your primary therapist. And it's an opportunity where we invite the family to come in and speak with the client or loved one that over family dynamics and issues that they've been facing in the past and things that they want to get out in a very nice therapeutic session here at the Robert Alexander center. We also have a full time therapist whose only job is to host individual meetings and seminars for families of loved ones who are seeking treatment. During this time, and during the interviews, and in individual conversations, as the family therapist will work with the families and understanding addiction in itself, understanding coping skills, understanding boundaries, also allowing the families to understand what they can do to best support the addict or alcoholic once they leave treatment and come back to their place of residents or inviting them back into the family.
