Russian drones, missiles pound Kyiv before Zelensky-Trump meeting

Описание: Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles and drones on Saturday (December 27), ahead of what President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said would be a key meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump to work out a deal to end nearly four years of war.

At least 28 people, including two children, were wounded, Kyiv authorities said.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage to private houses, apartment buildings and cars in 7 out of 10 Kyiv districts.

Reuters video showed firefighters putting out fires at one charred residential building in the Dniprovskyi district.

Before the attacks, Zelenskiy said his talks in Florida on Sunday would focus on the territory to be controlled by each side after a halt to the fighting that began in February 2022 with President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Russia's smaller neighbor, Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two.
