Описание: Are you a Unit 1 helmet owner who struggles to turn your lights on or off while riding? You are NOT alone!

In this video, I discuss a critical flaw in the design of the Unit 1 helmet's on/off toggle switch—a major safety concern that seems to be widely dismissed.

I've found that the button is incredibly stiff, requires excessive force to activate, and provides zero haptic feedback or audible click. This means you have to press down hard (risking a crash!) and often can't tell if the light is on or off, especially in low light. This isn't just an annoyance; it’s a distraction that forces you to dangerously pull over or ride one-handed just to check your safety feature.

The Comparison:
I contrast this frustrating experience with the excellent design of another top E-bike rated helmet, the Lumos. The Lumos on/off switch is soft, easy to press, and gives immediate, satisfying feedback with a haptic feel and an audible noise. You know, instantly, that your lights are on or off, making on-the-go toggling safe and simple. This is a vital difference for any serious cyclist.

Why This Matters for Bike Safety:
For most riders, pulling off the trail or out of traffic to manipulate a difficult switch is not an option. A button that is hard to press and provides no confirmation is a serious design failure that compromises the very safety the helmet is designed to provide.

Unit 1, are you listening?
I reached out to Unit 1 directly to discuss but was redirected to a "social media" person. As with other online comments, it just feels like the issue is overlooked. Is the company planning an update or a fix for this widely-reported stiff button? (Unit 1 does mention that the button is stiff to ensure water resistance, but that doesn't excuse the lack of confirmation and the extreme pressure required).

👉 Watch to see a side-by-side comparison of Unit 1 Aura and Lumos e-bike helmet switches.

Have you experienced this with your Unit 1 helmet? Do you agree that the Lumos button is superior? Let me know in the comments!
