CHATIYAGIRI VIHARAYA (TEMPLE)
ACCESS ROAD TO CHATIYAGIRI VIHARAYA FROM NUWARAELIYA CITY
Nuwaraeliya - Kandy road (1.5km) -Turn left to Shantipura road – Shantipura - Chatiyagiri viharaya (2.5km)
Chatiyagiri viharaya is situated in Shantipura at Nuwaraeliya. Shantipura is the highest village in Sri lanka. So this is the temple at the highest point in Sri lanka with a settlement.It is about 4km away from nuwaraeliya city and situated at the slop of the kikiliyamana mountain. (2240m)
From the temple premises we can see the entire Shantipura village, Piduruthalagala mountain range, uda Radella mountain and most of around nuwaraeliya area.

Nuwaraeliya – Udupussellawa road- passing Hawaeliya (3km) turn right to Ashokaramaya (600m)
This temple located about 3.5km away from the nuwaraeliya city with picturesque surrounding. This area is very calm,quiet and peaceful. Dagaba(Stupa) is situated at the highest point in the temple premises. From here you can see Piduruthlagala mountain range, Hawaeliya and Boralanda area. It is a beautiful panoramic view.

Nuwaraeliya – Welimada road (1.5km) Turn right to single tree road – swarnagiri viharaya (1.2km)
This temple is situated about 2.5km away from the city of nuwaraeliya nerby single tree road. It is very close to the summit of the single tree hills. (2100m) Because of that it is known as single tree temple.
From here you can get a spectacular view of lake Gregory, Piduruthalagala mountain range and area of Nuwaraeliya.
