According to the 2025 Global Wealth Report by UBS, Taiwan is one of the wealthiest countries and regions globally. There are almost 760,000 Taiwanese with over US$1 million in assets, the 15th highest in the world. Taiwan’s average wealth per adult also ranks 15th globally, at US$312,075, or around NT$9.23 million.

However, the median wealth per adult is only a fraction of that, at US$114,871, or around NT$3.4 million. NTNU human resource technology professor Colin Suen says the 760,000 millionaires are a minority, and likelier to have financial assets as the main source of income, as opposed to wages.
