How to can cheese. Starry Hilder Homestead. Living outside the box.
I have been canning for over 25 years and I love putting my food items that use to be stored in the freezer o the pantry shelf for long term food storage.
This week I found some left over cheese (lost in the freezer) that needed to be canned. The process is EASY and fast. BUT please no *canning police*. This recipe is done at your own risk. Cheese has a ph of around 5-6. Some extensions do not recommend it due to botulism. So you will have to decide. I know people who can cheese and have had it on their shelf and eat it readily! No issues.

Heat Jars/Sterilize
Melt cheese (I use the water bath)
Place lids on and water bath for 20-30 minutes or pressure CAN for 20 minutes at 250 degrees if you are concerned with CBot.
