In a year-long investigation, The New Arab - in collaboration with SIRAJ and El Paìs - documented the journey of steel scrap headed to Turkish mills from war-torn countries, such as Palestine and Syria. We tracked scrap routes through satellite imagery, maritime and trade data queries, exclusive documents, and interviews with key sources in the sector.
