Описание: The Twinkle Brothers were formed in 1962 by Norman and Ralston Grant in Falmouth, Jamaica, they subsequently recruited Eric Barnard, Karl Hyatt, Bongo Asher and Albert Green

After winning local talent competitions, they recorded with the island’s top producers including Leslie Kong, Duke Reid, Lee "Scratch" Perry and Bunny Lee. The band also performed to the tourists on the North Coast that enabled them to finance their own recordings. Their single `Miss Labba Labba' was released through Trojan records and lent its title to a classic compilation released in 1971. They debuted with their full album, `Rasta Pon Top’, released in 1975, that featured popular hits such as `Natty Dread Uptown,’ `It Gwine Dreadah (Prophecy)’ and the title track.

In 1977, the band were signed to Virgin's Frontline label, which led to the release of the mini album `Love’, followed by two full albums, `Praise Jah’, and `Countrymen’ (the latter included our featured track, `Jahoviah' here performed live). Around the time that Virgin Records dropped the Front Line label Norman Grant moved to the UK and continued working as the Twinkle Brothers releasing and re-releasing works on his Twinkle label.
