In a hearing on the plea filed against communal hashtags in Islamophobic content on social media, the top court has asked the petitioner to read the news Information and technology rules. The top court said that new IT rules deal with such content on social media. the matter will be taken up for hearing again after a week. A plea which sort direction to restrain the social media platforms from using Islamophobic hashtag, saying it will disturb the communal harmony of the country. A plea was filed in wake of a hashtag that was trending on Twitter. CJI said that new IT rules deal with such issues.
