A Full Alaska Journey — Prince of Wales Island — From Travel to Table

In this episode of Ask The Alaskan, we travel to Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska for a multi-day hunting and adventure trip. Getting there meant early mornings, long drives, multiple flights, ferry travel, and navigating constant Southeast Alaska rain. Once on the island, we spent five days learning new ground, glassing, hiking, and hunting Sitka blacktail deer in remote rainforest terrain.

After several days with no success, persistence finally paid off. We were able to ethically harvest two Sitka blacktail bucks, then field dress, debone, and process the meat for the long journey home. The trip ends the same way it started — together — cooking fresh venison and completing the experience from travel to table.
