Classic TV Theme: Love on a Rooftop (two versions +Bonus!)

Описание: I wish I had better source material for this show as it was one of my favorites when it aired in 1966. But it was cancelled after one season and never syndicated. Except for ABC replaying some of the eps in 1971 it hasn't been on tv since. A shame, as it was a smart take on the concept of 'Barefoot in the Park', with good scripts and a fine cast (though they never did explain Judy Carne's accent). It is said to have been an influence on the much later 'Dharma and Greg'.
Mundell Lowe created a joyous jazz waltz as the show's main theme; his music throughout was in the same vein as Neal Hefti's 'Barefoot' score, only hipper. But somebody at Screen Gems (or ABC) thought the show's declining ratings could be fixed with a different theme, so Howard Greenfield and Jack Keller were called in to come up with something new (the same sort of service they provided for 'Hazel', q.v.). The second theme was copyrighted in Dec 1966 and it's lively enough but hardly an improvement over the original. Still it was plastered on all the rest of the shows, and even some earlier episodes had the new theme retroactively replace the old (as the collectors 16mm prints that survive document). Since the shows were already completed Greenfield and Keller never got on-screen credit.
