Irrationality is everywhere in language learning. Learning with unqualified people, adopting blatantly obvious ineffective solutions, myths, witch doctors, influencers, or large scale learning platforms that have more to do with games than with learning.

Taking as an example my own program, the road to French is quite easy: follow step 1 all the way through to step 80. And yet when I look at some of my videos, some get zero plays: students skips them or decide which ones they would rather watch. They browse through them quickly. They don;t do the self-assessment. This is irrational because they are not following a plan made by an expert.

Not studying
Not repeating
Not making notes
Not learning in a strategic and organized way.

Failure at a language is ALWAYS due to irrational choices that a student tries to impose on a rational system. (provided they choose one)
