He is best known for his work as a Disney supervising animator on many classic films such as OLIVER AND COMPANY, THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER, ALADDIN, THE LION KING, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, TARZAN, ATLANTIS, THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, and WINNIE THE POOH. Russ contributed his work as a Story Artist on projects like WONDER PARK, and THE GARFIELD MOVIE, to name a few.

Russ has worked on feature films for Alcon Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, Skydance Animation, Paramount Animation, and Disney Animation Studios.

Russ instructed animation for leading film schools such as California Institute of the Arts and UCLA.
