Optoma HD70 DLP Video Projector Repair No Power / Bad Color Wheel

Описание: Another projector from my day job that was sent in after a second new projector lamp did not resolve their problem. Allegedly the first projector lamp did not seat easily so some wires were moved and screws turned. At some point, a wire contacted the metal casing and power ceased being delivered due to a bad fuse.

I also found many pieces of glass from a failed color wheel. The dust/cobwebs caused the color wheel to fail from excessive heat and age.

Fortunately the only real problem was the fuse. This was fortunate in that none of the power semiconductors had failed not any of the high wattage resistors. After replacing the 5 amp fuse, the unit powered up happily.

The color wheel was an easy replacement as well.
