Met Thiru. T.K. Ramasamy ayya (who is sadly no more now) long back in a pattarai where he was making all these skin (percussion) instruments. We were just there to buy some instruments. We wanted to take pictures with him and we approached him for the same.
He replied that he would like to play something with me. And, here is this video both of us playing together. After that he told me that I played pretty well with him and congratulated me for choosing this art form. At that moment it just felt like I won million awards.
After some years, it just happened to know he is no more. A person who made thousands of instruments for artists like me is no more. I still see this man breathing through his art in this video. A memory that lasts for my life. Thank you Thiru. T.K. Ramasamy ayya:)
