Renowned stage actress Norma Lawry retired to marry Stephen Lawry, a brilliant scientist working on a secretive project with the potential to change the course of the war. As Norma tries to keep her stepdaughter, Barbara, from falling for the charming but deceitful actor Paul Gerente, tensions rise.
