Beijing subway detached due to snow-caused slippery tracks; 102 people suffer fractures

Описание: Following Thursday's Changping Line subway accident in Beijing, 515 people were examined at the hospital, with 102 diagnosed with fractures. No fatalities were reported.

According to local authorities, the subway carriage on the Changping Line detached between Xierqi and Life Science Park stations at 18:57. Xierqi subway station was temporarily closed due to the accident, and Changping Line operations was also halted. Shuttle buses were arranged for stranded passengers.

Preliminary investigations revealed that slippery tracks caused by snow resulted in the emergency braking and halt of a train in front. The rear train, located in a downhill section, experienced sliding and failed to brake effectively, ended up in a collision with the front train.
