(5 May 2015) Some of the world's most iconic sculptures have been replicated using styrofoam at a new exhibition in Brazil.
The collection includes replicas of well-known pieces such as Jeff Koons' "Balloon Dog" and Henry Moore's "Archer."
In the space inside Rio's Museum of Modern Art, artists saw, slice, sand and drill away at giant blocks of styrofoam while visitors watch on.
These artists usually apply their craft to making floats for Rio's annual Carnival.
President of the museum, Carlos Alberto Gouvea Chateaubriand, described the unusual exhibition as "an homage" to the big names of modern art.
One visitor said the exhibition was unique because it allowed people to watch the gallery change and evolve as new pieces are created.
The exhibition opened last month with a handful of finished sculptures.
The aim is to have the hall filled with sculptures and all 2-thousand kilograms (4,400 pounds) of foam blocks used when the exhibit ends on June 14.
