Datta Mandir, Uri, Baramulla, J&K

Very rare more then 1000 year old ancient ASI protected temple archeology viz. Datta Mandir in the Uri sector of Baramulla District of J&K. It is the ancient Hindu temple which is situated on the bank of river Jehlum. It is belived to have been constructed by Pandva brothers during their sujourn. The temple was dediated to Lord Vishnu. The idols were broken by raiders in 1947. Lt. Col. Kamal Kant of Gorkha Rifles installed a marble idol of Lord Shiva in 1992. The style of construction of temple is akin to Shiva Mandir of Boniyar.

How to reach: Take over Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri National Highway NHA1. 20 KMs from Baramulla town towards Uri, 4-5 KMs from Boniyar Tehsil of Baramulla.

This Datta Temple Was Built By The Pandavas In Uri, Jammu And Kashmir

The Temple is called the Datta Mandir as per a board there but as per the ASI the correct name is Detha Mandir and the place it is at is called Bandi. The Temple was built somewhere in the 10th Century.
