The Vein of Marshall Ethanol for Untreated Persistent Atrial Fibrillation (VENUS) trial demonstrated the addition of vein of Marshall (VOM) ethanol infusion to catheter ablation improves maintenance of sinus rhythm compared with catheter ablation alone in individuals with persistent atrial fibrillation.
