Fixing my Sony ear buds

Описание: My beloved Sony earbuds developed a big problem. The left ear started to cut out randomly. This really ruins the 'high fidelity experience.' Not cool. By jiggling the cable here and there I was able to determine that the issue was with the cable up by the earpiece rather than the plug, Y-junction, connector or the speaker itself. I was able to pop the bud open with just a little damage (some small plastic tabs broke). This gave me access to the points where the wires solder to the speaker. I unsoldered the wires, cut out the bad section and resoldered. The enameled multi-strand wire gave me a bit of trouble but I was able to solder it after scraping and applying some fire. These earbuds have been ghetto since the last time I fixed them (the Y-junction was ripped apart several years ago), so I didn't mind just gluing the back cap on. They work great and I've used them everyday for a month since.
