Presentation Abstract
In May 2025, Needs4Water and Almaquin Enterprises completed a comprehensive WASH survey across 25 Ethiopian schools using WHO/UNICEF JMP indicators and the INWISE methodology. The team assessed infrastructure condition, water quality, sanitation access, and user experience across four regions, producing structured findings and evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
This session introduces operators and technical staff to practical WASH assessment methods drawn from that fieldwork. Participants will learn how to apply structured indicators, conduct basic water quality testing, evaluate risk in small systems, and engage communities in disciplined problem-solving. The focus is clear: measurable improvements are possible, even where budgets, staffing, and infrastructure are limited.
