Trade marks are an essential part of doing business, and can come in a number of forms – such as words, numerals, graphic designs, shapes, colours and even sounds. A trade mark is a sign used to distinguish your goods/services from those of other businesses. Registering a trade mark can help the owner to stop others using the same or a similar sign in a way that confuses customers, takes advantage of their reputation or damages their brand.
