A rare 1926 AJS GR10 race-bike at the 2023 Kop Hill Climb.
This machine has had a rich history, and is believed to have TT provenance, indicated by TT and Manx stamps etched into parts of the machine. It also features a left-hand-side oil filler, synonymous with early pit stop requirements of the Island race.
This bike is believed to have been dismantled on retirement from the TT, and the frame and components shipped off to Australia. These were repatriated to England in the ‘50s and fitted with a period 1928 K8 500cc overhead valve engine. The bike was then raced in the 1950s and ‘60s and has remained in the same family for a number of decades. There is no denying that this is one hell of a machine.
