Another painfully difficult stage that was made even more difficult due to the N-Sane Trilogy's change to the ledge physics.
Also, although Crash 1 in this trilogy will now allow you to still break all of a level's crates for a Gem even after you die, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO COLORED GEM STAGES. If you die, and then get all of the crates in this stage, for example, you STILL won't get its Green Gem. It's such an obnoxious move that both Crash and Coco will get mad at you over it.
But maybe this was to make and align the challenge of getting a Colored Gem in Crash 1 more similar to getting one in Crash 3, where you couldn't even use the platform that leads to the Colored Gem's Death Route if you died before you stepped on it. I guess this is how they wanted to translate it into Crash 1.
Unfortunately, most, if not ALL of the Colored Gems lie in some of the most difficult stages in Crash 1 and possibly the whole trilogy. I'll have you know that I had to record this over 10 times to get this run through The Lost City right.
And remember, there's still an even harder version of this stage than this, later on! At least that one doesn't have a Colored Gem, so dying there is salvageable, but still...
