Outlaw Hideouts (Late 1800s): The rugged terrain provided perfect cover for bandits and rustlers evading lawmen after robberies—think Butch Cassidy-era hideaways in the canyons and mesas.
Native American Heritage: Ute, Paiute, and Fremont tribes seasonally lived, hunted, and traveled these lands long before European contact, leaving traces of their presence in the region.
