Описание: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched development projects worth nearly ₹24,000 crore in Silchar while delivering a sharp political message against the Congress. Addressing a large gathering in the Barak Valley, Modi said that where the “thinking of Congress leaders stops, our work begins,” accusing previous governments of neglecting the Northeast for decades. The Prime Minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the ₹22,860 crore Shillong-Silchar Corridor, the first access-controlled highway project in the region. The 166-kilometre corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Guwahati and Silchar and strengthen connectivity with states like Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Modi also said the project will help transform Barak Valley into a major logistics and trade hub while boosting employment opportunities, tourism and economic growth across the Northeast.
