An observational documentary series that follows the personal stories of sailors aboard HMS Illustrious during a rare four month deployment. One of only two aircraft carriers in the British Naval fleet, the 20,000 tonne ship has a crew of 1,000, as well as its own mayor, police force and fire service. As the ship sails on an important mission, the series offers a unique insight into the daily lives of the ship's crew.
