Filmed on Orcas Island, off the coast of Washington State near Canada, this short documentary follows BriAnna Joy-Garza as she reflects on the mindset required to build something meaningful from the ground up.

Originally from Austin, Texas, BriAnna has spent the last 970 days on the road building a business — choosing to invest in people and vision instead of settling into a house.

Through “wolf mentality,” BriAnna explores what it means to wake up with purpose: to survive, protect, sacrifice, and show up for the pack. Surrounded by towering trees, tight-knit community, and quiet beauty, the island becomes a backdrop for reflection, storytelling, and recommitment to setting her team up for success for the year ahead.

BriAnna shares a pivotal moment from her college basketball career, when a coach told her she was in the “bottom eight” and later admitted she was being held back simply because the coach was “not used to having one of those” on the team — referring to BriAnna being gay. That moment of discrimination and trauma became fuel. Instead of quitting, BriAnna chose self-belief: first in the gym, last out, day after day.

That experience now drives her passion for coaching and redefining the standard of leadership. On Orcas Island, BriAnna connects with Joan, a marathon pioneer, learning powerful lessons about consistency and how to make people feel welcome instantly. The journey culminates in an unexpected moment: meeting two high school players, Charlotte and Margo, shooting basketball outside in the cold. A simple 15-minute lesson turns into a reminder of purpose, voice, and impact — reinforced by the realization that their coach is the very person BriAnna was scheduled to meet later that day.
