Tragically, Marah's mother had been forcibly removed from the wilds of the greater Timbavati but thanks to the courage and tireless work of Linda Tucker and her team, Marah and her cubs were rescued from a life of exploitation and returned to their ancestral lands. Her freedom and successful release back into her endemic territories took over 5 years to achieve! Once free, she didn’t just survive. She thrived. She learned to hunt in the wild, raised her cubs with strength and grace and proved the impossible was possible.
Today, Marah’s lineage flourishes into its fourth generation, roaming free in the Heartlands, a testament to resilience, freedom and sacred stewardship. This year on 25 December, we celebrate the birth of Marah 25 years ago in Bethlehem South Africa.
