In linguistics, an adjective is a word that generally modifies a noun or noun phrase or describes its referent. Its semantic role is to change information given by the noun.



KINDS OF ADJECTIVES:

DEMONSTRATIVE ADJECTIVES
A demonstrative adjective directly refers to something or someone. Demonstrative adjectives include the words: this, that, these, those.

INTERROGATIVE ADJECTIVES
An interrogative adjective must be followed by a noun or a pronoun. The interrogative adjectives are: which, what, whose.

POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
The words my, our, your, his, her, its , their , when used before a noun, are called possessive adjectives.

QUALITATIVE ADJECTIVES
Qualitative adjectives are also called adjectives of quality or descriptive adjectives. These adjectives describe the quality or nature of the noun or pronoun.

QUANTITATIVE ADJECTIVES
Quantitative Adjective are some, much, little, any, half, whole etc.
