With deep experience as a former Australian trade and investment minister, and consultant across Asia, Andrew is excellently placed to explain how the tariffs being introduced by US President Trump might all play out and what they could mean for the agriculture sector.
As the minister for trade, tourism and investment in the Abbott and Turnbull governments, Andrew was responsible for negotiating and signing free trade agreements with China, South Korea and Japan, and was a leading advocate for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the canary in the regional free trade coal mine scuttled by the 2016 US presidential election. He's also a former chief executive of the Cattle Council of Australia and then the National Farmers’ Federation, and is now a consultant on trade and investment.
