King's College London will play an important part in centenary commemorations throughout the next four years.
Here experts from across the College offer their unique insights into a conflict that defined a generation and changed the course of history. They examine why war broke out and discuss whether a 'bad peace' led to the beginning of World War Two; how the conflict and its psychological impact transformed the treatment of mental illness; the role King's played - from the staff and students who fought to trench cookery lessons; and why it's important to mark the centenary through continued analysis of the causes and consequences of The Great War.
