Uploader's note: There are hundreds of recordings of Nabucco, but this is the reference (as well as the single old school one!), because of the phenomenal Callas and Bechi (it's also Callas' only known full opera recording in the 1940s). Performed just 4 years after ww2, the Italians were very passionate about freedom, they shouted "Viva Italia!" during the famous chorus section "Va pensiero" in act 3, and asked for an encore. Also noticed that Gui put Abigaille's death scene before the chorus "Immenso Jehovah" and ended the opera with the opening motif transposed into D major.
