🎨 Creating Sketch Lines with Modifiers in Blender
In this tutorial, I walk you through a simple but effective workflow for creating sketch-style visuals in Blender — perfect for early concept design and iteration.
We’ll start by modelling a stylised mountain scene using primitive shapes to form the base of a Greek-inspired temple with stairs and surrounding forms. Then, I’ll show you how to use the Grease Pencil and a series of modifiers — including Line Art, Subdivide and Noise — to create the illusion of expressive, hand-drawn sketch lines.
This technique is ideal for students and artists who want to present environment concepts quickly, without the pressure of full realism. It’s great for showing design intent, proportions, and form at the early stages of your workflow.
🧠 Perfect for:
Environment design blockouts
Concept development and visual iteration
Creating stylised “design sheet” visuals in Blender
💡 Simple, fast, and creative — a great way to bring sketch energy into your 3D work!
