Shiva Tandava Stotram was composed and sung by demon king Ravana centuries ago. Once Ravana tried to lift the Kailash Mountain and take Lord Shiva along with it. Lord Shiva pressed his toe and crushed the fingers of Ravana. To please lord shiva, the demon king started to sing the Shiv Tandav Stotram. In the hymn, Ravana sings glories of Lord Shiva with immense love and devotion. As per scriptures Lord Shiva was extremely pleased with He heard the hymn which includes 15 verses. Reciting the Shiv Tandav Stotram provides relief from all miseries, purifies oneself and blesses one with Divine grace of Lord Shiva.
