The anniversary also saw renewed discussion about the scale of the military operation. Senior Indian Air Force officials stated during commemorative briefings that Indian forces had struck multiple Pakistani airfields and destroyed several aircraft during the campaign. Defence commentators described Operation Sindoor as a turning point in India’s modern military doctrine and cross-border counter-terror strategy.

At the same time, the Indian Army released a short commemorative film and tribute video marking one year of the operation. The video highlighted India’s “calibrated and precise response” to terrorism and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to national sovereignty and citizen safety. The film included visuals of military preparedness, strike operations, and tributes to soldiers involved in the mission.

The campaign quickly spread across Indian social media, where hashtags related to Operation Sindoor trended widely. Supporters described the DP change as a symbol of national unity and respect for the armed forces, while critics and opposition voices questioned whether the remembrance was becoming overly politicised ahead of upcoming elections. Even so, the anniversary has clearly become one of the most visible military remembrance events in India this year.
