As the story goes.... Director John Carpenter and legendary effects artist Rob Bottin ran out of money and time during their ambitious remake of "The Thing". Among many scenes that went unfilmed, the demise of the young chef Nauls. This was an important scene as we finally got to see what 'death-by-assimilation' from "The Thing" would look like. As is turned out, the closest we would get would be the scene of Blair's hand merging with Garry's face. Well, now, no longer!
