HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM (HCVP) WAIT LIST

PROJECT BASED VOUCHER PROGRAM (PBVP) SCATTERED SITE WAIT LIST

HCVP (SECTION 8) — WAIT LIST

The HCVP provides subsidy for decent, safe and sanitary housing for persons, without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, handicap, family status, ororientation, whose income falls at or below the very low-income category as follows, by number of persons in a household. This program services the City of Ansonia, CT 06401; Town of Seymour, CT 06483 and City of Shelton, CT 06484.

One pre-application per family, who meets income eligibility requirements, will be accepted; duplicates will be rejected. The AHA will conduct one random lottery type selection of 750 submitted pre-applications for the HCVP Waitlist after the closing date. After the lottery is run, families who list their current address within the 06401, 06483, and 06484 zip codes will receive preference points for determining position on the Wait List. Preapplications not selected in the lottery are considered rejected.

PBVP SCATTERED SITE — WAIT LIST

The PBVP subsidizes housing units for AHA owned and/or managed properties in the City of Ansonia, CT 06401. Program guidelines are similar to the HCVP; however, the voucher is assigned and remains with the unit. While the family occupies the unit, the family benefits from the voucher.

One pre-application per family, who meets income eligibility requirements, will be accepted; duplicates will be rejected. The AHA will conduct one random lottery type selection of 350 submitted pre-applications for the PBVP Wait List after the closing date. After the lottery is run, families who list their current address in the City of Ansonia, CT 06401 will receive preference points for determining position on the Wait List. Preapplications not selected in the lottery are considered rejected.

OPEN PERIOD:

The HCVP Wait List and the PBVP Wait List will each open for pre-application submission from September 22nd, 2025, at 9:00 am EST and close on September 25th, 2025, at 6:00 pm EST. Eligible families may submit one pre-application for each open wait list; duplicates will be discarded.

TO APPLY:

The AHA has partnered with AffordableHousing.com. Pre-Applications can only be found online by visiting www.affordablehousing.com during the open period. Pre-Applications will only be accepted using the online portal during the open period. No phone calls, voicemails, faxes, emails, or mail in applications will be accepted without a reasonable accommodation request.
