A Cheap Trim Fix for 90's Honda Owners | Honda Civic Project

Yes, I realize this isn't exciting stuff by any means. BUT, it's the small things that add up to make a MUCH cleaner Honda Civic. This $900 Civic has plenty of eyesores, so the more I fix, the better it looks. So today I decided to knock out the trim wrap. Most 90's Hondas have this same problem and it stands out like crazy. In the past, I have painted trim, plasti dipped trim, etc. The wrap seems to hold up the best with time and takes the least amount of work in my opinion. So instead of learning the hard way like me, give this a shot!

Like anything else, the more prep you do, the better it will look. I took the lazy approach and chose not to sand down the remaining paint on the trim. But the flatter you get it, the better it will look. I recommend doing this to any trim you think is failing or won't hold up long term. So even if you have MINT trim work, I would still recommend wrapping over it to keep it looking better for longer. All in all, I think these pieces go for around $200 for the set (ridiculous I know), and my typical junkyard runs haven't produced anything cleaner than what I have. So for about $10 in wrap material, $10 bucks in tools, and a heat gun or blow drying, it can be a much cheaper option.
